About Black & White Coffee Roasters
Founded in 2017 by Kyle Ramage (2017 US Barista Champion) and Lem Butler (2016 US Barista Champion), who were inspired by competition-level coffee and wanted to make it widely accessible. They purchased Back Alley Coffee Roasters and built Black & White around three core values: Service, Community, and Excellence. In 2025, B&W joined the FairWave collective as its first North Carolina brand.
