Founded in 2014 by Kinani Ahmed, a first-generation American born in Ethiopia who spent 15 years managing coffee shops before founding Sextant. He is the only Ethiopian independently roasting and selling coffee in the U.S. The company works directly with farmers across Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, and elsewhere, and was providing coffee to Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
